You may lock 1 piece of relic/relic-1 gear on your search comment per night, and also lot any free lot relic, make sure to be specific on your search comment, for example monk head -1. We lot regular relic in cities and Northlands, and -1 relic in all COP zones. Please do not lot relic drops until either called free lot or called to the person on seacom, this avoids mistakenly lotting on drops that are locked.

Forgotten items- the items required to upgrade a Relic +1 gear to +2 are only lottable if you have the matching +1 relic to use them with. Once you have a +1 relic gear you may lot the corresponding forgotten item, Thoughts for heads, Hopes for Bodies, Touches for Hands, Journeys for Legs and Steps for Feet. This can be done two ways, you can lock them for the night, in which case you can’t lock any other forgotten items until you have obtained 30 and completed that piece. You can also lot them when they are free lot, if no one locks a forgotten item for the night, then are free lot to those with the corresponding +1, in a case of free lotting you do not have to finish that piece b4 locking a forgotten or lotting any other free lot Forgotten items. So locking a piece means you may finish it faster, but lotting on free lots means you may be able to attain more variety of armor type Forgottens.

NM drops are another kind of item that may be lotted under certain circumstances, for one they are not for sale, neither are forgotten items and currency we are not here to make people gil, the goal is to make each other stronger and better geared. Anyone caught selling drops they earn from the shell will be dealt with swiftly. NM drops can only be lotted if you will and can use them, some have latent conditions which must be met to activate or will be useless. Another important point is the job the items are for, and how often you use this job, if an item drops for example that PLD can use, and you do not have PLD or do not play it much at all, and PLDs in the shell who have and are on PLD often, we expect the courtesy of not just lotting something to have it, we expect people to lot things only if they will use it enough to make it worth it. If you can and will use the item then by all means lot it, but if others need more please take this into consideration.

Also certain items will be locked to certain jobs only for first lotting rights, depending on how rare the item is. This is also true of shadow gear and Archon gear in the future. These rare drops are given preference to not only those who have great attendance, but also to those who have been in the Linkshell a considerable amount of time, and those whose main jobs would gain the most benefit from the item. For example someone who has been in the shell for 2 weeks, will not be able to lot on an Archon ring when there are those who have been in the Linkshell for over a year, and come as a job that needs it, this seems like the simplest fairest way to handle this. On the other hand, everyone will have a chance at these and other items as time goes on and more are obtained. Some items however depending on certain criteria will be free lot and open to lot by anyone, regardless of length in shell or main job as long as they can and will use it.
